Jacobs: National Rail Blackfriars Visualisation

Rewind FX was commissioned to create a 3D fly through animation of the newly designed Network Rail Blackfriars Station in Central London. The project involved working closely with Jacobs architects and engineers to ensure the imaging of the station fully matched the design specifications.

Information was collected about the structure, including the architectural CAD data, material schedules and photographs of similar developments. Using CAD data, a highly detailed scaled model was produced of the entire development. Constant communication with the architects ensured the building form was correct and a high level of image quality achieved.

Finishes and real world based lighting were then applied to the scene using information supplied by the architects and resource imagery from similar structures.

Once completed, the final cinematic camera move was plotted and the scene rendered. Extensive post production was used to add extra lighting effects and to colour grade the shots.

The final images and video have been used widely across the media, shown on BBC Breakfast News and billboards throughout London.
